Exploration

By planting saplings and trees PTI has helped add to the green cover in and around all its mine leases. This has helped cover dead dumps and surrounding road sides. These plantations are maintained as per the guidelines of the Central Pollution Control Board. Care is taken to choose local species so as to maintain an ecological balance. The plantations are well tended and looked after and a 70% survival is maintained. A nursery has also been set up at Shigao mines.

In the year 2009-10 PTI has planted 30,500 saplings and more than 2 million saplings so far.
